Amidst blunt warnings of third Covid surge, Centre directs all States to regulate crowded places

Amidst a slew of repeated warnings from India’s leading epidemiologists, virologists, public health experts and data scientists tracking Covid pandemic that a third wave of even more contagious Covid pandemic could be lurking in the shadow, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla sent an urgent letter to Chief Secretaries and Administrators of States and Union Territories today urging them to immediately issue strict directions to the district and other local authorities to regulate crowded public places and take necessary measures for the management of Covid pandemic in their respective territories.
