Guwahati, August 29: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma held a video conference with the Deputy Commissioners of all districts today from his conference room at Janata Bhawan here in Guwahati and discussed various issues and took stock of various schemes’ implementation.
The Chief Minister discussed about the targets set in recent DCs’ Conference in Diphu on August 22 and 23, which will be monitored closely. He stressed on the need for constant monitoring to achieve development goals on time and instructed the DCs to implement the development schemes expeditiously in close coordination with the departments.
He also directed the DCs to intensify Covid vaccination drive in the districts so that maximum population can be covered. Complete vaccination is one of the keys to fight the pandemic affectively in the future, he said.
Asking DCs to stay prepared for floods while taking steps to facilitate relief and rehabilitation of the flood affected at the earliest, the Chief Minister emphasised on the importance of affective preparatory measures for the floods so that damages can be minimised.
Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Samir Kumar Sinha were also present in today’s VC among others.
