Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma called for injecting more professional, transparent and innovative management to churn the Brahmaputra Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) into a more profit making venture. The state’s new Chief Minister emphasized on this during his visit to the Brahmaputra Fertilizer Corporation Limited central complex at Namrup in Dibrugarh today.
The visiting Chief Minister reviewed the status of its plants and proposal for commissioning of a fourth plant.
“ The Chief Minister enquired about the reasons for the sub optimal performance of the PSU and discussed to find out ways and means to make the plant commercially profitable “, a communiqué from the Chief Minister’s Office informed.
Chief Minister Dr Sarma also interacted with the members of the employees union and the contractual employees of BVFCL during his visit.
Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries RameswarTeli, Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Power Minister Bimal Bora, MLAs Taranga Gogoi and Terash Gowala were also present during the Chief Minister’s meetings at BVFCL Namrup.
